Normandy is a large region with plenty for just about any visitor to experience and loaded with culture and history. Just a short drive or train ride from Paris you will find the historic cities of Rouen and Caen. Don't forget a visit to nearby Giverny, home to the celebrated artist Claude Monet.
The Flowered Coast is where you will find lovely seaside villages like Deauville (home to the American Film Festival and great for celebrity-watching), Trouville-sur-Mer, and Honfleur (a traditional fishing village).
The Calvados region is well-known for its cheese-makers, cider and distilleries.
Further west is the historic Mont-Saint-Michel and its landmark abbey. Visitors will also want to see the landmark D-Day Landing Beaches, for a look at Normandy's role in more recent history and pay a visit to nearby Bayeaux, for a stroll into Normandy's medieval past.
